Buckthorn Removal near Granite Falls, MN

As the first step in restoring a native oak savanna, over 50 acres of dense buckthorn was removed from a natural area near Granite Falls, MN. Native grasses and wildflowers were seeded shortly after, helping to keep new buckthorn growth at bay and bring beauty back to the understory.
